DIRECTIONS TO SBYC by Land

  1. Proceed north on Rt 111 into Smithtown where it crosses Rt 25 and becomes Rt 25A. As you cross Rt 25 bear right and follow signs for Rt 25A continuing north for 1.5 miles to the traffic light just north of the railroad underpass, and make a left turn at that traffic light onto Edgewood Avenue.
  2. Proceed on Edgewood Avenue about 200 feet to the first intersection on the right and make a right turn onto 50 Acre Road, which you will take for 1.0 mile to the end, which is Moriches Road.
  3. Make a left turn onto Moriches Road and proceed west for 1.7 miles and make a right turn onto Long Beach Road, which is just after the Firehouse on your right.
  4. Take Long Beach Road 2.0 miles into the Smithtown Park. Proceed thru the entrance to the park (during summer months a guard will require a park permit or other authorization for entrance) and continue east on Long Beach Road, which runs along the south side of the dunes, for 0.6 miles to the Stop Sign at Marina Access Road on the right.
  5. Immediately after the Marina Access Road, The Smithtown Bay Yacht Club clubhouse, at 552 Long Beach Road, is on the left (north) and our marina is on the right (south). Members may park in the spaces provided next to the clubhouse grounds. Guests and visitors must park in the spaces provided on the east side of the marina.

ALTERNATE DIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTHEAST (Rt 347)
  1. Take Rt 347 southwest to Moriches Road (at the intersection Smithhaven Mall will be on your left and Office Max and Borders will be on your right), and make a right turn.
  2. Take Moriches Road northwest to Rt 25A.
  3. Cross over Rt 25A and continue on Moriches Road 2.4 miles and make a right turn onto Long Beach Road, which is just after the Firehouse on your right.
  4. Take Long Beach Road 2.0 miles into the Smithtown Park. Proceed thru the entrance to the park (during summer months a guard will require a park permit or other authorization for entrance) and
  5. Continue east on Long Beach Road, which runs along the south side of the dunes, for 0.6 miles to the Stop Sign at Marina Access Road on the right.
  6. Immediately after the Marina Access Road will be The Smithtown Bay Yacht Club clubhouse is on the left (north) and our marina is on the right (south). Members may park in the spaces provided next to the clubhouse grounds. Guests and visitors must park in the spaces provided on the east side of the marina.

ALTERNATE DIRECTIONS FROM THE WEST (Rt 25)
  1. Take Rt 25 east to the traffic light at Edgewood Avenue which on the left (north) side (Brooksite Drive is on the south side) – the traffic light is at the top of the hill just east of Stop and Shop on the left and Exxon Station on the right.
  2. At the traffic light make a left turn onto Edgewood Avenue and proceed 2.1 miles to 50 Acre Road on your left (it’s the left turn before Rt 25A).
  3. Proceed on 50 Acre Road for 1.0 miles to the end, which is Moriches Road.
  4. Make a left turn onto Moriches Road and proceed west for 1.7 miles and make a right turn onto Long Beach Road, which is just after the Firehouse on your right.
  5. Take Long Beach Road 2.0 miles into the Smithtown Park. Proceed thru the entrance to the park (during summer months a guard will require a park permit or other authorization for entrance) and continue east on Long Beach Road, which runs along the south side of the dunes, for 0.6 miles to the Stop Sign at Marina Access Road on the right.

PLEASE USE CAUTION  when driving both Moriches Road and Long Beach Road which are narrow, hilly, winding country roads and do not have shoulders.  These road are not lit at night.  Joggers and bicyclers often use these roads during the day.  The speed limits are strictly enforced by local village police.
