House Rules and Regulations

PREAMBLE: We, the members of the Board of Governors of the Smithtown Bay Yacht Club, in recognition of the purposes of this Club, promulgate the following House Rules and Regulations with the intention of assuring all members the enjoyment of the Club.

These rules recognize that this Club is a social Club used by its members and their families and guests as a place of relaxation and entertainment while pursuing their enjoyment of boating.

1. Alcoholic beverages will not be served to any person under 21 years of age under any circumstances. Proof of age may be requested before being served.

2. Alcoholic beverages will not be served to any person who the bartender believes is inebriated.

3. Guests must be accompanied by a member.

4. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult while in the Clubhouse.

5. Shirts and shoes are required in the Clubhouse.

6. Pets are not permitted in the Clubhouse.

7. Members are responsible for cleaning up after themselves and their guests in the Clubhouse and on the Club grounds.

8. The removal of Club property by any individual will be prosecuted.

9. The kitchen is available only for Club functions. Kitchen utensils, supplies or food may not be taken or borrowed.

10. Bottles of liquor may not be purchased, taken or borrowed from the bar.

11. No one is permitted on the Clubhouse or shed roofs.

12. Members are fully responsible for damage caused by themselves, their children or guests.

13. Ball playing is prohibited in the Clubhouse. Ball playing is, likewise, prohibited on the lawn or patio if played in a manner which may interfere with any member’s quiet enjoyment of the Club.

14. Open fires are not permitted on the beach. Barbecues should be confined to the barbecue pit.

15. The Smithtown Bay Yacht Club is not responsible for personal effects of any kind left on the premises.

16. Parking in the driveway is not permitted.

17. This is a family Club and one in which children are most welcome. However, if a child becomes unruly, it is the parent’s responsibility to see that their child’s behavior does not disturb the enjoyment of other members or guests.

18. Large or excessively noisy toys are not permitted in the Clubhouse.

19. Smoking is not permitted in the Clubhouse.

20. No person is permitted in the Board Room except Board Members.

21. Out of respect for yourselves, your families and co—members, please keep your language appropriate to the environment.
